Project Description:
We successfully completed an extensive SCADA system modernization project for Kronospan Trading Romania, a global leader in the wood processing industry. The project involved a complete overhaul of the SCADA system for the chip drying area, operated with high-performance equipment from Dieffenbacher GmbH.
The new SCADA system, built on the WinCC Unified platform, was designed to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. The operator interface design adheres to the international ISA 101 standards, ensuring an intuitive and efficient user experience.
Key Features of the Project:
- Infrastructure based on Siemens IPC637, providing high processing power, stability, and full compatibility with modern systems.
- Over 20,000 monitored and controlled tags, ensuring precise control and detailed supervision of the drying process.
- Redundant architecture, including two operating stations in the control room for operational continuity and protection against failures.
- Advanced archiving system, enabling long-term storage and analysis of operational data, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Modern and intuitive interface, designed to enhance operator efficiency and reduce response times in critical situations.
The project fully replaced the old SCADA system, delivering a modern, scalable solution tailored to the current and future needs of the facility. The implementation of Siemens IPC637 provided the optimal hardware foundation for high performance and long-term reliability.
